ARTCRANK Minneapolis 2012
2012’s ARTCRANK Minneapolis poster “Proud Papa” was inspired by our son Griffin who was born during the design phase. In fact, the sketches were done in the hospital. The first edition sold out and found new homes as far away as Chile, Italy, and Australia. Thanks to everyone who shouted “encore”. We printed a second edition and prints are available on Etsy.
Proud Papa is now available as a jersey from local (Twin Cities) cycling accessories maker Donkey Label. They’re taking orders for a limited run of 100.
Proud Papa
Despite dragging junior along in a bike trailer Dad wins the race with a surge of pride and the energy that brings. Printed in a limited edition of 75 the poster is two colors on 19″x25″ Smart White 110 lb. cover from French Paper Company.
Build Up
Much anticipated, this year’s show included lots of great coverage in both online and traditional media. “Proud Papa” was featured in the April 12 issue of vita.mn as part of a story on ARTCRANK.
The Show
This year’s show was huge. Despite the much larger venue it was packed but the scene inside (where the beer was) and out (where the food was) throbbed with friendly conversations and great energy as several posters quickly sold out.
Artcrank sponsor Metro Magazine posted some photos of the show by Derek Lundmark including this one of Proud Papa and Geoffrey Schley.
